250-hour Certified Teacher Training Program
Our 250-hour comprehensive Teachers Training Program (TTP), covering all requirements for registration with the Yoga Alliance, is available on a private and semi-private basis. In addition to teacher trainees, this program is open to serious students who wish to deepen their understanding of yoga and do not necessarily want to teach.
The goal of this program is to have our teacher trainees uphold the high level of knowledge, compassion and integrity as embodied by Jennie’s own teachers in India. The TTP includes the study of yogic philosophies of health and enlightenment and the use of asana, pranayama, bandha, kriya, mudra, and charkas for this purpose. We incorporate the Four Paths of Yoga: Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Karma Yoga, and study The Three Gunas, along with Sanskrit chants and meditation. Conventional anatomy and yogic anatomy will be covered, along with teaching methodology, asana sequencing, class planning, hands-on assisting, ethics, certain therapeutic applications of yoga, and internship practice.
A study of the history and philosophy of yoga, through satsang, chants and discussion sessions, covers classic texts such as the Bhaghavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Classes consist of two 6-hour days each month for the intensive program, and one 6-hour day each month for the 10-month program, along with additional workshops and internship hours and concluding with an in-depth, 4-day or 10-day yoga intensive (depending on the program). Further classroom hours, self-study and written assignments are required.
